Quebec’s Immigration Plan for 2024-25: More Control, Higher Targets

Quebec is one of the most powerful provinces in Canada, which has control over all immigration services in Canada. Also Quebec is taking the lead in shaping its own policies and programs. Because of the Quebec-Canada Accord, the province enjoys significant autonomy in welcoming immigrants and skilled workers, with less federal oversight.

The targets set by Canada, Quebec have recently released their immigration goals. This year, a minimum of 49,500 immigrants are expected to make their way to Quebec. In 2024 and 2025, the province aims to welcome 50,000 newcomers annually. Additionally, for the years 2023 to 2025, Quebec predicts the arrival of 32,000 foreign skilled workers per year.

Quebec’s influence on immigration within Canada remains strong. The province recognizes the importance of Francophone immigration throughout the nation, as it contributes to a vibrant and diverse cultural landscape.
