Step-by-Step Work Permit Application Flow

  • The fastest way to apply is online, with the process being a joint effort between you and your employer.
  • Phase 1: The Employer's Responsibility
    • 1. Job Advertisement: The employer must prove the job was advertised within Sweden and the EU/EEA for a minimum of 10 days before offering the position to you (a non-EU/EEA citizen).
    • 2. Offer Submission: The employer gathers your details and submits an official "Offer of Employment" (covering salary, role, and insurance details) to the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket) online.
    • 3. Union Consultation: The employer sends the terms of employment to the relevant Swedish trade union for comment or approval.
  • Phase 2: Your Application & Final Decision
  • Once Phase 1 is complete, you will receive an email link from the Migration Agency to proceed with your part of the application.
    • • FederPath Note: For the critical steps of completing your application, document submission, interview preparation, review, and final decision notification (Phases 2 & 3), we recommend approaching FederPath for expert assistance to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
