Phase 1: Preparation

• Step 1: Get a Job Offer
  This is mandatory. You must have a signed contract from a Singapore-based employer.
• Step 2: Employer Submits Job Advertisement
  For most EP and S Pass applications, the employer must first advertise the job on MyCareersFuture for at least 14 days to consider local candidates fairly.
• Step 3: Employer Submits Application
  Your employer logs into the MOM's online portal (EP Online) and submits the application with your documents — passport, degrees, and CV.
  • Processing Time: Usually within 10 business days for most online applications.

Phase 2: Approval and Entry

• Step 4: Receive IPA Letter
  If approved, your employer receives an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter from MOM.
  • About the IPA Letter: It acts as a single-entry visa, allowing you to travel to Singapore. It also specifies if you need a medical check or biometrics registration.
• Step 5: Travel to Singapore
  Use the IPA letter to enter Singapore. You have 6 months from the IPA date to enter the country.
• Step 6: Get the Pass Issued
  Once in Singapore, your employer logs back into EP Online to formally issue the pass, pays the final fee, and confirms your local address.
  • Notification Letter: Once issued, both you and the employer receive a Notification Letter via email. This is your temporary permission to start work immediately while waiting for the physical card.

Phase 3: Final Steps in Singapore

• Step 7: Biometrics Registration
  If required, book an appointment at the MOM Employment Pass Services Centre to register your photo and fingerprints.
  • Documents to Bring: Original passport, Appointment Letter, and Notification Letter.
• Step 8: Receive the Card
  After biometrics, your physical Employment Pass or S Pass Card is delivered to your registered Singapore address, usually within 5 working days. This card is your official ID and proof of your right to live and work in Singapore.
