Choose The Right Career

Denmark work visa services
Do you want to work in Denmark? If you are not from the EU/EEA, you need a Work Permit (also called a work visa). The Danish Government office that handles this is called SIRI.

Number 1: You Need a Job First!

You must have a confirmed job offer and a signed contract from a Danish company before you can ask for the permit.

The Main Ways to Get a Permit

Denmark has different plans based on your salary and job:
  • 1. The High Salary Plan (Pay Limit Scheme): For people who will earn a high salary, no matter the job.
    • Minimum Salary (2025): You must earn DKK 514,000 or more per year.
  • 2. The Lower Salary Plan (Supplementary Pay Limit Scheme): For people earning a bit less, but still good money.
    • Minimum Salary (2025): You must earn DKK 415,000 or more per year.
  • 3. The Shortage List (Positive List): For people who have a job in an area where Denmark needs more workers (like IT, doctors, or engineers).
  • 4. The Quick Way (Fast-Track Scheme): For people working for certain approved Danish companies. This way is faster.

Simple Rules for Your Job

Your job offer must follow these rules:
  • Written Contract: You must have a signed job contract.
  • Fair Pay: Your salary and work conditions must be the same as or better than what other people in Denmark get for the same job.
  • Salary Payment: Only the money you get in your bank account (salary, pension, etc.) counts towards the minimum required salary. Free cars or housing do not count.
  • Qualifications: You must have the right education and skills for the job.

Step-by-Step Application (The SIRI Process)

You will apply online to SIRI.

Phase 1: Getting Ready

  1. Choose the right permit plan (e.g., High Salary Plan).
  2. You or your employer must pay the application fee online to get a Case ID number.
  3. Get all your necessary documents ready (see list below).

Phase 2: Sending the Application

  1. You or your employer fills out and sends the application form to SIRI online.
  2. Within 14 days of applying, you must go to the nearest Danish embassy or visa center to give your fingerprints and photo (this is called biometrics).

Phase 3: Decision and Travel

  1. SIRI reviews your application.
  2. When approved, you get a notice.
  3. You collect your physical Residence and Work Permit Card (R/W Card).
  4. You use the card to travel to Denmark. When you arrive, you must register your address to get a CPR number (your Danish personal ID) for things like health care and banks.

Documents You Need

  • Valid Passport: All pages, including the photo page.
  • Fee Receipt: Proof that you paid the application fee.
  • Employment Contract: The signed job offer.
  • Education Proof: Copies of your diplomas or degrees.
  • Power of Attorney: If your employer applies for you.
  • Family Papers: If your family is moving with you (marriage and birth certificates).
